Happy New Year to you all. This week we have enjoyed taking part in all our fun national days. When we came back we wished everyone a happy new year and enjoyed coming back to nursery. Then we enjoyed Spaghetti day, there were so many fun spaghetti activities for us all to join in and take part. towards the end of the week we enjoyed technology day. We enjoyed playing and exploring fun and different technology things.
As Christmas is all over with we had to say goodbye to santa‘s work shop and turn imagination in to something else. So now we have a cafe. The children have enjoyed spending most of today playing in it. They enjoyed pretending to make the food and taking orders and writing orders down. 👧👦✍️🍔🥗🥪🌭🍕🍟
As this months “Book of the month” is “Goldielocks and the Three Bears“ we read the story and the children did really well to listen and recite the story. The children also enjoyed looking at the book together. 👧👦📚📖👧.
The children also enjoyed learning the “Goldilocks and the three bears song“ they joined in with the actions and tried well to start to join in with the words. We sang it a couple of times but we will learns it over this month. The children also playing the honey pot game. They took it in turns to choose who was going to be the bear. 👦👧🐻honey🍯👆🥣
In the messy room the children enjoyed playing in the flour and adding water to it to see if they can make it turn in to a dough. The children enjoyed mixing the water using their hands and some of the children said it was “Sticky”. Also in the messy room the children enjoyed tracing around different objects. They each had a piece of paper and used different colours to trace around the objects. 👧👦🤲✍️🖍
In the babies 👶 they have enjoyed playing with the I.C.T toys. They have enjoyed pressing the buttons and listening to the sounds. 👶👆💻👂
Spaghetti day! 🍝
Today has been spaghetti day and we have created lots of exploring pasta in many ways. 🍝
We have been making letters out of the wiggly worm pasta. We were able to identify each letter as we used different size pasta to form the letters. 🔡🍝
Mr Spaghetti head had no hair! We had to use the dry spaghetti and added it the holes to make sure he had enough hair to keep him warm. We counted how many we added to see how far we needed to go. 💇♀️
Yummy yummy in my tummy with meatballs and pasta! In the home corner we had a pasta restaurant were we got to make lots of yummy pasta food. We all ate so much our belly began to hurt so we decided to have a rest and enjoy reading some stories.🍝📚
Today we have also been looking at Goldilocks and the three bears! We had a porridge themed tray with oats, different size bowls, the story and some toppings. We listened carefully to the story before adding the porridge to the bowls to make some delicious breakfast! To finish we spoke about our favourite toppings from jam to sprinkles. 🥣🐻
123 jump! As we cheered our friends to jump of the tyres. We all climbed aboard and balanced before we took the leap and jumped up high into the air and touching the sky. 🌍🔢🧍♀️
Today the babies 👶have had a really good day and have been doing lots of different activities😁. In the morning the babies playing in a farmyard 👨🌾🐄🐖🐑🐐🐴themed tray, with lots of different cearls, fake grass, tractor 🚜 and a farmyard pop up book. The babies enjoyed picking up the animals and crunching up the cereal 🥣 with their fingers. The babies opened the book and looking 👀 at the all the pictures of the differnt animals in the book 📖 as they popped out.
After they played in the tray, the babies played with pink strawberry scented play dough made out of angel 👼 delight. They squeezed the play dough with hands and used different cookie 🍪 cutters to make different shapes, they also used play dough cutter tools to make different marks on the play dough.
It’s national technology day today and we have had lots of fun role-playing 🎭with our technology toys! 📞📸💻We used our fine motor skills to push 🙌🏼the buttons on the toys to operate them! We used the phones📱☎️ to call our mummies and daddies and have lots of conversations with them about our day!✨
Today we have also been continuing our aquarium:coral: crafts by making our own jellyfish! We used blue 🔵and purple 🟣paint to paint 🎨the plates and then stuck of some goodly eyes👀 for them to see! We then ripped up some tissue paper and cut ✂️some pipe cleaners to make their tentacles.
Following this in our construction 🚧🧱🔨room we enjoyed exploring a digging area with a tray of rice🍚ramps to pour the rice and diggers to dig and build!🚚🚛
Today we have been having lots of fun exploring technology day. We have created our very own mobile phones 📱. Using different shaped card and glueing the card together to create the phone shape. We then used our fine motor skills to create our own keypad 🔢 for our phones.
We have explored play dough robots 🤖. We used the play dough to create the robots 🤖 head and body. We used lolly pops to give the robot arms💪 and legs 🦵. We chose which eyes 👀 to give the robot 🤖. We then gave the robot buttons using different shapes 🔷🔺🌙.
We have been hard at work in the office 📆. We have been typing ⌨️ away trying to get our work finished by the close of day. The phones 📞 have not stopped ringing with people asking us to complete more work🗂️. We have enjoyed our busy day in the office📃.
We have been reading 📖 stories about different occupations. We have learned about what happens in a police officers day 👮🏼♂️. We read stories about postmen 📭 on Mars 🪐. We had a group discussion about what jobs we want to do when we’re older like a fire truck 🚒 , teacher 👩🏫 and mummy and daddy. We then independently read our books 📖.
We have been using our fine motor skills 👏🏻 to draw ✍️ a round different shapes 🔷🔺 that were different sizes. We drew around lots of things. We really enjoyed our colouring.
