Welcome to MonkeyMoos Caversham, Basingstoke.
Based in the stunning surroundings of Highdown school with its grade II listed buildings and 30 acre grounds. Caversham MonkeyMoos has a home from home feel and cares for children aged from 18 months to 5 years.
MonkeyMoos Highdown is a warm and friendly nursery which is completely dedicated to giving your little ones the best start to life!
What do we offer at Caversham, Reading?
We are open 51 weeks weeks of the year, we have a variety of different sessions available from 7am-7pm. We offer both funded and non-funded sessions.
We are a 28 place open planned nursery and have spaces for children between the ages of 18 months until they leave for their school adventure. We follow the Ofsted ratio requirements, these are: 1:3 under 2’s. 1:4 under 3’s and 1:8 3 and over.
With an additional cosy room for the children to enjoy story time and having a snooze in during their nap times, the children can free flow in the building and into the large spacious garden which wraps around the building. The garden is accessible throughout the day, giving all children the choice to explore both inside and outside activities.
The children enjoy free play with all the ages, as well as adult and child led activities and will also enjoy age focused group times too. We have noticed that the pre-schoolers develop their nurturing sides by engaging with the younger children and the under 3’s language develops due to all the wonderful language they are hearing the older children use.
- Daily walks around the community. We are luckily enough to be located in the middle of Winklebury so we have access to a lovely small park, woodland area as well as using the fields outside of nursery. The children use these on a daily basis these experiences of knowledge will help promote the children understand of the world and help gain experiences of their local community.
- Daily activities and national theme days. We make sure all of our activities are fun, every day has a new activity which is exciting and educational as well as promoting all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We also using these area to plan activities for each individual child to along with their interests.
- Daily photo updates. We provide families daily learning journal photos of what their children have been up to which is a fantastic tool in promoting language development as it gives you some fantastic talking points to discuss with your child when they come home from MonkeyMoos.
- Healthy professionally catered food. The nursery provides food which is freshly prepared by award wining chefs who cater for a wide range of dietary requirements.
We pride ourselves on being able to provide a happy, safe and inclusive environment in which children aged birth to five years old are encouraged to explore their potential!
