At monkeymoos we have been really enjoying the sunshine at last and been spending lots of time outside. We have made sure we are safe and careful by wearing suncream to protect out skin from the sunshine and been stopping for regular breaks to make sure we stay hydrated!!

This week we have followed the childrens interests and had a day exploring and learning all about DINOSAURS! We have thoughts about the life cycle and where they came from. We have learnt about what happened to them and why they are not walking with us now.

The children have enjoyed doing lots of cooking this week, some have made cakes, biscuits, got really involved with helping the chef peel the potatoes ready for tea and some of use even got the chance to enjoy the outside with a bbq. YUMMY!!!!!!

All our nurseries have been giving their children the opportunities to join in with our cultural capital week and explore with some fun and exciting ideas which they may not get the opportunity to experience with their families. For example In worthing we took to the skies in monkey Jets and went on a plane to visit some other countries. Winklebury went to the cinema and choice their favourite film to watch and enjoyed eating yummy pop corn and treats.

Today in babies 👶 we’ve had a fantastic 🤩 day! 

We started off the morning visiting our MonkeyMoos Diner 🍴. We had so much fun 🤩 looking at the menu and seeing what we could have for snack! We all chose melon 🍈 and breadsticks with some milk 🥛! We waited patiently for our food to arrive and watched our milk 🥛 be poured into our cups! We then enjoyed eating 🍽 our snack, drinking our milk 🥛 and having a chat 💬 with each other! 

We then went onto making chocolate 🍫 chip cookies 🍪 to bring home 🏡 later! We loved 🥰 spooning 🥄 the mixture into a big bowl 🥣 , we then poured in some water 💦 and mixed the ingredients together! Once the mixture had formed a dough we used our hands 🙌 to roll some of the dough into balls ⚽️ and placed them onto the baking tray. Once they where on the tray we used our hands 🙌 to flatten them and then we waited patiently for them to cook. We can’t wait to bring them home 🏡 to eat later ⏰! They look 👀 very yummy 😋!

Today in toddlers we have had a super day exploring the different activities in our creative room .

First we used our hands 🙌 and fine motor skills ✍️ to make our very own bubble pictures 🫧 with lots of different stencils and play dough 🖼cutters to make our pictures super colourful with different coloured bubble mixture. 

On the creative table we have been exploring different ways to colour our pictures we used paints 🎨and also crayons 🖍 to see how the different colours and mark making items made different strokes on the paper 📝 .

In the rice tray we have been exploring green 🟢and blue 🔵rice with our sea 🌊 and land 🌎animals , we loved using our hands 🙌 to move the animals around the tray and loved seeing the marks the animals made from doing this . 

In the construction 🚧 area of the garden 🪴 we have been using our fine motor skills to make our very own houses and castles with stickle bricks in the garden we enjoyed building them so high and seeing the different colours we had . 

The preschoolers had a fantastic day today exploring our mini construction tray 🚧🔨 we enjoyed feeling the different textures with our hands 🙌🏼 and crushing the weetabix and cornflakes 🥣 we also had lots of fun 🤩 moving the construction 🚧 vehicles 🚗 around the tray 😄

We also enjoyed exploring our seasons tray filled with the four seasons ❄️🌳🌿☀️ we enjoyed exploring the oats, shaving 🪒 foam , paint 🎨 and leaves 🌿 and lots of different small world 🌎 animals. We had lots of fun 🤩 naming the different things we could see in tray and spoting the different animals 👀

This morning the babies, preschoolers and the toddlers enjoyed being in the garden playing with the sensory farm themed tuff tray. They took it in turns with the animals and a grown up spoke about what the animals were and what sounds they make. 👦👧👶🪴🐷🐮

Babies also enjoyed having some time in the messy room. They had lots of fun being creative on the chalk board and gluing and sticking at the table. They focused well and had lots of fun engaging with their peers and grown ups. 👶👩✍️

This morning the children enjoyed joining in with morning group time. They sat and focused on numbers. They did so well to match and point to the correct numbers that their grown up had asked them to find. 👦👧🔢

They enjoyed going out and playing with bats and balls, working on their running skills and so much more. 👦👧🏓🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

The children also enjoyed drawing on pieces of cardboard boxes and paper. They did some sticking, drawing and used lots of different creative resources. 👦👧✍️📦
