This week the children have been exploring not one but two national food days! To start with we had mousse day which involved the children exploring different flavours of mousse and getting messy with moussey activities. Next we had a yummy tasty pie day. This was exciting as the children got to create their own pie whether it was using arts and crafts or cooking them. To finish we had a very messy time, we had painting, we had big hunting in leaves and sticks and using our maths skills to thread the sting to numbers in order.

The babies 👶 today have had a lovely time. They have loved 🥰 exploring a tasting tray filled with chocolate 🍫 angel 😇 delight and squirty cream. They used spoons 🥄 and their hands 🙌 to pick up the angel 😇 delight and cream placing it to their mouths 👄.
The babies 👶 then liked playing with a 5 little frogs 🐸 tray. They named the colour frogs 🐸, blue 🔵, green 🟢 and red 🔴 before using their pinch 🤏 grasps to move the frogs 🐸 around the tray.
The babies 👶 have enjoyed having cuddles 🥰, reading some books 📚 and playing with the musical 🎶 laptops 👩‍💻 saying “Ta”.
We have had a fantastic 👍day today in toddlers! We have been so excited and keen to explore our new role play room which has been turned into a Christmas post office! 🎅🏼🎄📮We used our imagination✨to become post workers and sort all of the parcels in the shop! 📦This helped us to practice our maths knowledge 🧠through talking about different sizes! We also explored a literacy area where we could design 🖍️our own Christmas cards as well as write letters📝 using chalk and pens!🖊️
Today we have also continued to explore our dinosaur🦕🦖 themed oat tray and today we added some spinach🥬 leaves to it! This lead to a discussion about what dinosaurs like to eat!🗣️
On top of this we have had lots of fun making our own teddy bears🧸 out of junk modelling resources! We recycled boxes🗳️ and toilet rolls 🧻tubes to cut and stick with scissors ✂️ and glue!✨
Today in preschool creative 🎨room we have had so much fun 🤩 being scientist 🧑‍🔬 and doing experiments 🧪. We found out how to make a volcano 🌋 out of Coca-Cola and mentos, we opened up the Coca-Cola and started dropping in the mentos one by one, when we had enough the volcano 🌋 started to erupt and Coca-Cola started to explode out the top of the bottle.
After preschool played with some tools 🛠️ and tried to free the cotton wool from the ice 🧊. We used a few drivers to try and chizzle the ice off, we then used a hammer to break the ice 🧊, we also used a saw to cut the ice in half.
After a tiring morning making volcanos 🌋 and freeing cotton wool we played with some goo made out of Angel delight, jelly , oats , flour and raisins. We all got messy feeling the different textures and the different smells from each ingredient.

This morning we went for a lovely walk. The children did well to hold on to their friends hands and walk nicely together. They went to the park and had lots of fun going on the swings, going down the slide and having a go on the roundabout. 👧👦🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
As today is Pie day the children spent a lot in our sensory tuff tray theme which was let’s make a mud pie. In the tray we had soil, sticks, leafs, bugs and different pots and pans. The children were very imagainative and made lots of pies for all their friends. 👧👦 🍂 🥧
In the messy room on the table the children enjoyed making their own baubles. They used different colour glitter and pencils to make a colourful bauble. 👧👦✏️. Also in the messy room in the tray the children enjoyed playing with the play dough to make the base for a pie. 🥧
This afternoon the children have been introduced to our friend buddy the Elf. He’s going to be here to play with the children and do lots of different Christmassy things. The children are very excited. 👧👦🎄🎅🧝.
In the babies they have been very happy playing with lots of different things. The babies enjoyed going for a walk as well to the park and having a go on the swings and slide.
In their room they enjoyed playing with our blow up snowman. They kept giving our snowman lots of cuddles. 👶 ⛄
Our babies also enjoyed playing in our sensory tiff tray. 👶🤚

To start our day we had to get our brains working and to do this we practiced our counting skills. We used the string
to thread through the numbers in order one to 10. As we thread the string we counted in a big loud voice! 🧵🔟

Next up we got create in the messy tray. We firstly listened to the book “who’s afraid of the dark?“ We then spoke
about the different animal noises we can hear when it’s night time. We then got our aprons at the ready and painted our
hands to create bats! 📚🎨🙌

As we love getting our hands covered in paint we used it do continue to paint our hands. As we ran out of paint we all
shouted “blue“ as it was the paint we wanted. We then painted our hands all blue and turned into Smurf’s as we then
created lots and lots of handprints.🔵🖌✋

Over in the tray the bugs were playing a game of hide and seek. We had to use our expert eyes and use the tick list to
tick off all the bugs we could see. We found a beetle, spider and a caterpillar. 👀🐛🪲🕷
