This week has been a good week, the children have enjoyed joining in with all the fun national activities that we have set up for them and enjoyed going on some daily walks. This weeks national days were Porridge day. The children enjoyed porridge activities and having a nice warm bowl for their breakfast. Then came farmers day, which the children enjoyed playing in the farmers tuff tray themed tray. To end a fun week our last national day was desserts day. The children enjoyed playing in our dessert themed activities, eating pineapple for pudding after lunch and telling us what is their favourite dessert.

We have been celebrating ๐Ÿฅณ porridge ๐Ÿฅฃ day! We used our fine motor skills to pick up ๐Ÿ” a spoon ๐Ÿฅ„ and scoop up the oats into the single bowls or into their mouths ๐Ÿ‘„ to taste ๐Ÿ‘… them. Some of them thought it was yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹ whilst some of them werenโ€™t too sure and went off to play elsewhere.
Some of the babies ๐Ÿ‘ถ liked playing with the different sized sensory balls ๐Ÿ€ rolling them around the room, pushing the balls ๐Ÿ€ with their hands ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ listening to the bells ๐Ÿ”” jingle.
We played with our own little tea ๐Ÿซ– set. We used our hands ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ to pick up the teapot ๐Ÿซ– and tip the tea โ˜•๏ธ onto their own cups. They used different senses for this activity, they used their noses ๐Ÿ‘ƒ to smell the different teabags and used their mouths ๐Ÿ‘„ and tongues to taste the tea ๐Ÿซ–. In toddlers ๐Ÿ‘ซwe have been doing all things porridge as itโ€™s porridge day! ๐ŸฅฃWe started off our day by role playing as Goldilocks and the three bears! ๐ŸปWe held masks ๐ŸŽญof each character to our face and pretended to eat some yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹porridge! We then pretended to be Goldilocks ๐Ÿ‘ฑ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธand fed the three bears๐Ÿป some porridge to make up for eating it all!!!๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜‹
We then headed into the creative โœจroom to make them some more porridge! ๐Ÿฝ๏ธWe explored each ingredient by feelingโœ‹smelling ๐Ÿ‘ƒand tasting๐Ÿ‘… each one! Following this we talked about how to make porridge and we mixed all of the ingredients together in a big bowl! ๐Ÿฅฃ
On top of this, we have been using our fine motor ๐Ÿคskills to make some numbers ๐Ÿ”ขout of play dough! We used our fingers to manipulate the play dough to shape it into each number! We then sang๐ŸŽคlots of counting songs ๐ŸŽถonce we had done this!
We have had a brilliant day in preschool. We have been celebrating national porridge ๐Ÿฅฃ day!! We have been looking at the story of Goldilocks and the three bears ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงธ story book. ๐Ÿ“– The children sat down in a big group and listened to the practitioner re tell this story using props. The children were really engaged whilst watching this visual and interactive version of the story. Throughout the story there are many themes of emotions, keeping safe and sizes. We focused on looking at the different sizes. The children help to find out whoโ€™s bowl, chair and bed matched which bear. The children soon noticed that the small furniture ๐Ÿช‘ was made for the baby bear ๐Ÿป, and the medium sized furniture ๐Ÿช‘ was for mummy bear ๐Ÿป , and the big furniture ๐Ÿช‘ was daddy bears ๐Ÿป!! We learnt lots of vocabulary to describe the different sizes, small, medium and big became are key words to describe the difference in sizes. Once the story was told the children had lots of fun using the props ๐Ÿป๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿช‘๐Ÿ›๏ธ to reenact the story. ๐Ÿ“š
In addition we had so much making our very own porridge ๐Ÿฅฃ for the bears!! The children explored the oats texture with their hands ๐Ÿคฒ and had lots of fun scooping the oats in to the big, medium and small sized bowls ๐Ÿฅฃ โ€œlike the bears!!!โ€ ๐ŸงธOne child said very excitedly! The children again noticed the difference in sizes and matched the correct sized spoon ๐Ÿฅ„ to their bowls. The children liked measuring and weighing the oats with their balancing scales โš–๏ธ. We then poured some water into the bowl ๐Ÿฅฃ and took it in turns to mix the oats and water together to make some porridge ๐Ÿฅฃ. The children enjoyed seeing step by step how the texture of the oats changed into porridge ๐Ÿฅฃ.

Old McDonald had a farm!
Today has been farmers day, where we learned about all the animals Old McDonald had. He had snakes, cows, mice, sheep, pig and lot more! We had lots of fun singing along using musical instruments as well as using animal marks. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿท๐Ÿน๐Ÿ
We then made our way over to the tuff tray which had a theme of a farm. We splashed away in the blue foam water With the ducks and crunched our way through the leaves like horses. ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿ’ฆ
To get our bodies moving we had a game of Simon Says. We listened to the โ€™Simonโ€™ and copied what he said. We pulled dolly faces, jumped up and down, clapped hands and many more movements. ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
Next stop was over at the pasta station! There were different coloured ribbons of different sizes to choose from to make it easy or tricky for us. We had lots of focused attention then even turned some into bracelets.๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ–‡๏ธ ๐Ÿงต

Happy Friday,
Hope today has been a great day for you all.
This morning the children ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง enjoyed our mark making activity that we had set up for them. There were plenty of different resources โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ–for the children to use to be creative.
In the tuff tray the children ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง enjoyed playing with the different colour ๐ŸŸฃ๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸก๐Ÿ”ด shredded paper ๐Ÿ“„. They used there hands ๐Ÿคฒ to feel and explore. It was a rainbow themed cake tray because today is dessert ๐Ÿจ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿง day.
In the messy room the children ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง enjoyed playing with our milkshake ๐Ÿฅ› activity. They had so much fun blowing through the straw to make the milkshakes ๐Ÿฅ› frothy. This was a lot of fun ๐Ÿ˜„.
In babies ๐Ÿ‘ถ they enjoyed another trip to the park, The swings and slides were their favourite today.
