Celebrating our Queen!! πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ

Today across our nurseries we have all been celebrating the Queens platinum jubilee with all of our fantastic children and families. We have enjoyed a wide range of activities such as getting very messy with crown making πŸ‘‘, creating our own queen accessories out of play dough, biscuit πŸͺdecorating with lots of yummy icing, decorating flags with paint, and hunt the Crown Jewels in the sand tray! πŸ‘‘ This afternoon we threw a magnificent party full of music, laughter and most importantly CAKE! 🧁

What a fabulous day we have had!

As the sun came out to play we sent some time in the garden enjoying the sunshine. β˜€οΈ We played in the sandpit and used different spades and tons to build different size sandcastles 🏰 , as well as using the trucks πŸ›» to operate and move 5e sand from one place to another.

Whilst inside we have been using our imagination πŸ’ in the messy area to make some yummy cakes for the Queen to eat.🧁 Whilst this was going on we has some crowns πŸ‘‘ , flagsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§, and dot to do soldiers πŸ’‚β€β™‚οΈ For the children to create their own marks on.

For lunch the children were super excited when they found out that they were having a Queens Jubilee roast dinner! They all wore their colourful crowns and enjoyed talking about what food they liked the best!🍽
During our party we had a biscuit decorating table with different coloured icing to represent the British flag. We then had a tuff tray crown making station were the children used different resources and equipment to create their crowns. In the messy tray we had a role play imagination cup cake station.
For our Jubilee lunch we had a roast dinner, the children all enjoyed and especially loved the Yorkshire puddings

The children drew the Queens portrait and looked at a few pictures of the Queen. In bright color and hats, with her crown and in a pretty dress.
We have also been discussing why this next month is special especially this week. They are doing really well at remembering that Our Queen has been on the throne for 70 years and the children have said that is a very long time.

We also have started looking and reading our Book of the month which the children have enjoyed.

Then we played a Jubilee game. They had to find all the red balls and blue balls really quickly and put them in to a tyre without mixing the blue and red balls.
