This fabulous week we have been learning so much from National pet day and talking about what amazing pets we have.🐶 Throughout the week we have started to get in the easter spirit by creating art pieces. 🐰To finish our week we had national unicorn day, with a splash of magical dust in unicorn land!🦄

Today was “Pet day” and we had a big group chat about all the different farm animals 🐶🐭🐷🐮, insects 🕷️🦗🪱🦋, sea 🌊 animals 🐋🐬🐠🐳 and zoo animals 🦍🦓🐘🦒. We asked the children what we could have as pets. Some said snakes 🐍, spiders 🕷️ and some even said they would like a tiger 🐅.
We also talked about some facts. The children listened 👂 well and found it all very interesting 🤔.

In the garden we built our own zoo for our zoo animals 🦒🐘🦓🦍. We asked the children if any one had been to a zoo 🐘🦒🦓🦍 before and some children 👧👦 said that they had.

In the babies 👶 we enjoyed mark making ✍️ with different colour 🟣🔵🟢🟡 pencils ✏️ with our grown ups.
We also enjoyed listening👂about different animals 🦍🦓🐘🐳🐬🐋🕷️🪱🦋 with the big children 👧👦. Look 👀 how well we are at sitting.

In Baby Room we have been busy doing all sorts of activities. 👶We started off in the cozy corner reading and looking at the books, feeling the different textures in books. 📖📚
Later the babies made a start on making their Easter cards. 🐣The babies had their feet painted by the practitioner and made footprint bunny and carrots. 🦶🐇🥕
The babies have been doing lots of singing and dancing too. 💃🕺🎶The babies have had a great day. 👍🏻🤩

We have had a great day😁 in toddlers today!👫We kick started our Easter activities by doing some chick counting! 🐣🐥We used our fingers to count each chick whilst also looking at the numbers 1-10!

Preschool had a great day together at nursery!! We started our morning with a fun-filled Easter 🐣 activity, in which we used lots of colourful paint 🎨 to decorate our own Easter eggs! 🥚
The children loved 🥰 this activity and everyone got really stuck in, making sure they couldn’t see their hands 🙌 through the paint 🎨! 😁
Later on in the day after a light snack, we got all the preschoolers into the construction 🏗️ room where Mel put on some of their favourite songs 🎶 to dance to. Everybody got up to dance 💃 and had a great time getting rid of some unwanted energy! 👍🏻
After lunch the weather started to clear up, so to the children’s delight we got our coats and decided to go out for a run 🏃‍♂️ around in the garden 🪴 everybody thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and fresh air, everyone getting involved with each other and playing a variety of different games with their friends 👫.
Everybody played very well together, and there was a smile 😊 on every face and laughter from every corner! 😁👍🏻

To finish our week we had a touch of magical unicorn dust! 🦄

It has been unicorn day at MonkeyMoos. We played a game of pin the horn on the unicorn. First we had to wear a blindfold and spin around not once, not twice but THREE times! We then had to reach up high and guess where it should go, Finally we took the blind fold off to see how close we got.

We then jumped, tiptoed and skipped to the tuff tray which was set up as a unicorn fairy land! 🧚‍♀️ 🦄 We had different textures which we enjoy mixing together and talking about what we can feel. We then discussed what unicorns might eat and why they are so magical.

In the afternoon we had a cheeky surprise. The unicorn snap turned into dragon snap! The only way to change them was to find the matching pairs and shout out “SNAP!”
