Having fun whilst we are learning!

07/03/2022

This week we have been learning lots. We have explored Mother language day, where the children learnt about different languages and different ways to communicate by using sign language. Next we had World Thinking day, 🌍where the children played memory games, and thinking on how we can solve problems. Lastly we had to finish with something yummy to eat which was chocolate cake day!🍫🍰

Today has also been Mother language day.
We have been learning about different languages throughout the day and have been doing this by looking at story books, which are in different languages and using the pictures in the story to describe what is happening.πŸ“š

We then have been looking at sign language and have been teaching the children some simple signs such as please and thankyou. We then looked at letters in sign language to see if the children were able to recognise any and copy them. We then discussed that everyone communicates in many different ways.

We have also also talked lots about a party that some of the children went on at the weekend, as well as talking about other fantastic adventures we went on by sharing lots of pictures during group time. πŸ‘

Today has been National Thinking Day, and the children have put on their thinking πŸ’ hats on.

We played a memory game were the children had to use there thinking head and remember what sea side 🌊 picture was missing. They did very well to remember what had been taken away.

Then they had to think πŸ’ about what they would like to build with the gears. Some made cars πŸš— and others made different shapes πŸ”ΊπŸ”Ήβ–ͺ️.

We enjoyed using scissors βœ‚οΈ as well. Our grown up πŸ‘© asked us how do we think πŸ’ scissors βœ‚οΈ are used a how to be safe with them.

Puzzles 🧩 was a fun thinking πŸ’ activity as well. As mush as we did well to put the pieces 🧩 together we had to think πŸ’ really hard to connect the pieces 🧩 together and some puzzles we needed a grown up πŸ‘© to help us.

In babies πŸ‘Ά we enjoyed playing with the wooden πŸͺ΅ car πŸš— garage, watching the cars go down the ramp was so much fun.

We enjoyed playing in the kitchen area, we made lots of meals πŸ›πŸ²πŸ₯— and cups of tea 🍡 πŸ«–.

Then we enjoyed listening to stories πŸ“• and we did really well to engage, by pointing πŸ‘†to the pictures.

Happy chocolate 🍫 day!πŸ₯³

In Baby room we have been busy bees.πŸ‘Ά This morning babies have been doing lots of building with the duplo blocks, seeing how tall they can build towers before they fall.πŸ—ΌπŸ§±Later the babies explore in a dirt track theme tuff tray. The tray was covered in chocolate cake crumbs, crushed rice crispies and crushed ice cream cones.🧁🍦The babies pushed the cars around in the mixture to create their own car tracks.πŸš—πŸš™ The babies have been playing with the puzzles in the cozy corner and looking at the books. πŸ§©πŸ“šThe babies have had a really good day!πŸ€©πŸ‘πŸ»

The toddlers πŸ‘« have been exploring in the land of 🍫 and creative imaginative designing. πŸ₯° Playing in the garden πŸͺ΄, kicking footballs, climbing slides, riding trikes, pushing balance board, playing with transport πŸ›» and much more!

The children πŸ‘¦ πŸ‘§πŸΌ have been exploring their smell, taste and touch. 🀩 The cocoa powder, flower, sprinkles, chocolate drops & various other ingredients to make our own cupcakes 🧁although I’m certainly sure that not much cooking was happening more of the tasting!🀣

On the other side of the room we were designing 🍰 with ingredients but instead sticking them to πŸ“ and having a design off. Although they were all winners! πŸ†

It was fair to say we were all covered in chocolate, smiling away being our happy confident selves! 😍

Preschool today have had lots of fun today celebrating πŸ₯³ our national chocolate 🍫 cake 🧁 day!!!!
We all had a turn at making our own chocolate 🍫 rice crispy cake, yummy. we all showed Mel are big muscles πŸ’ͺ when we had to break the chocolate 🍫 into little bits. We all done some amazing mixing, scooping and scraping to put the mixture into the cup cases, ready to go into the fridge.
