We have had another fun, exciting and educational week at MonkeyMoos. All of our excellent settings have enhanced the children’s learning while exploring fly a kite day, National Cherry Month and Make a friend day.

FLY A KITE DAY!!

Today is kite 🪁 day and the children have enjoyed designing 🖍 and cutting ✂️ them out. We talked about what a kite 🪁 is and how it works.
We used lots of different colours 🔴🟠🟣🔵🟢🟡 to decorate our kites 🪁. When cutting the kite 🪁 out we did really well at using the scissors ✂️ and was very careful when using them.

In babies 👶 they loved being out in the garden 🪴. They enjoyed playing in the ball pool and throwing the balls 🏀.
They had lots of fun riding on the diggers and we’re very active whilst climbing 🧗‍♀️ the soft play equipment.

NATIONAL CHERRY MONTH

Happy cherry day! Today the babies  have enjoyed some sticking in the valentines tuff tray. They used some glue spreaders to spread onto some foam hearts  And stuck some feathers  and rose  petals on to it. The babies have also liked having singing time with their practitioners, especially singing Old MacDonald .Today in toddlers  we have been having so much fun! Starting in the garden  making our very own  with the building blocks, doing a little bit of gardening and how to turn soil over to help the  regrow. We then came in the warmth and swapped our coats  for aprons and began to get messy!  We have been working on a project we will be keen to share with you all soon. The  have been exploring their hand  co ordination, gross and fine motor skills, confidence, self esteem, friendship making  and much more! We then finished the day off with chucking  and counting how many we could get into a cup! It’s fair to say the children thoroughly enjoyed this, even the practitioners got involved. Preschool today have had lots of fun celebrating  our National cherry  month. We all had a turn at making a tissue paper picture of a cherry  tree , we did lots of fine motor skills with ripping the paper with our fingers and hands . We all got very sticky using the glue!!! We then looked at what weather we needed for our cherry  tree  to grow. Mel printed some clues for us with different types of weather pictures for us to look at and decide what is best!!!!! 
We have also enjoyed the beautiful sunshine  today and been in the garden a lot. We really enjoyed going on a mini beast hunt with Mel and Katie. Looking under logs  and near walls to see what we could find. Preschool found lots of spiders , woodlice and lots of other creepy crawl insects . As we where looking a beautiful butterfly  flew into the garden which we all tried to catch but it was to fast for us.

MAKE A FRIEND Day

To start our fantastic make a friend day!Some of the children went for an outing to the duck pond. As we were all friends we held hands and walked safely crossing the road. We ventured past the church, Emmer green play park and excitedly arrived at the pond. They loved waving and shouting “HELLO!” They enjoyed watching all the ducks swim and waddle around the pond.Whilst that was going on some of our friends explored the friendship tuff tray. It was full of hugs and smiles, love, kisses and laughter and lots more to describe friendships, for us to mix together to create the best pie! They liked pouring, dashing and sprinkling each ingredient to mix together, whilst sharing the ingredients. We then talked about things we like about each of our friends at nursery, using kind words and using our manners such as please and thank you!Artist in the making as they used their creative skills to create beautiful pictures.  They used lots of bright colours to make their pictures stand out. Once it was bright and colourful they used their scissor control to cut around the pictures. To finish they handed them to their friends to take home!
