We have had another fun, exciting and educational week at MonkeyMoos. All of our excellent settings have enhanced the children’s learning while exploring the national days, by having educational activities based on them.. This included Compliment day Opposite day and Blueberry day.
In babies πΆ we have enjoyed playing with the dolls, brushing their hair and wrapping them up in blankets to go to sleep π΄.
We also enjoyed throwing the balls π across the room and chasing after them, getting excited when we picked them up again.
The babies have also enjoyed playing with the musical πΆ instruments π₯ singing along to different songs.
In the toddlers π« we have been celebrating the national day of compliments!π₯°
The children π§π» π§π½ Have been creating their very own tissue papered flower bouquet π for someone of their choosing. Feeling the textures and discussing the multiple colours π΄π π‘ available to use including the twisting and twirling of pipe cleaners. γ°οΈβ°
This has encouraged the children to not only take pride in their work but to compliments each otherβs work π¨ and build up confidence with in each other. π€ππΌ
We then continued our adventures I to the garden πͺ΄ where we all let loose with in the π¦ and sand trays! Splashing and scooping there was sp much laughing and giggling it was a definite assurance they all had fun!π€
In the middle of this fun fantastic creative exploring day, Toddlers have a little message for you all. β€οΈ
With the preschool we have had lots of fun celebrating π₯³ compliment day!!! We spoke about all the different emotions πππ π€ we could feel and how are friends might be feeling.
We enjoyed making puppet emotional faces. We used our very clever scissor βοΈ skills to cut around the faces and then using glue we stuck some lollipop stick to the back to make our puppets.
We also drew some different faces on to a monster. We chose happy π or sad π faces to draw βοΈ.
We have enjoyed playing in our role play room using the interlink toys to make different things like flowers π, ladders πͺ, and cars π.
We also braved the cold π₯Ά and enjoyed spending some time in the garden πͺ΄. We enjoyed building sand castles π° in the sand tray, we also did lots of pouring in the water π§ tray using different size jugs and cups.
As it was βOpposite Dayβ we enjoyed a hot and cold activity. They each had to pick up a picture and correctly put it to the correct opposite.
They all enjoyed some play dough time, moulding, squeezing β, rolling and cutting βοΈ it up.
The children also enjoyed rolling backwards and forwards the trains π, they took it in turns and was really good at making sure they did not fall of the table.
In the garden there was another opposite game were the children had to put the blocks 𧱠on top of each other. They did well to follow the instructions.
We also started our committee, each month a small group of children π§π¦ will talk to other children from MonkeyMoos π΅ and discuss what they would like in their nursery.
In babies πΆ they enjoyed playing with the sensory toys. Looking π through the sensory windows πͺ, sound πΆ books π and the different materials.
Blueberries, Blueberries, and more Blueberries!π«
We celebrated national blueberry day.π« The children got involved in fun blueberry activities. They became artist π¨βπ¨ and did blueberry painting which they could squish, push and pop the blueberries onto the paper, as well as using their fingers and dipping them into the paint.
Splish splash spolsh went the blueberries in the water. The children used their pinchers to pinch the blueberries π« into the water. Once they were all squished they added them to a mixing bowl and used a wooden spoon to mix it together to make yummy blueberry cakes. π
The children have been showing an interest in paper planes. βοΈ They watched as the grown ups made them and then they had a go at making one themselves. They then counted 1 to 10 and threw them across the room and they landed in blueberry land!ποΈπ«
