We have had a fun, exciting and educational week across all our MonkeyMoo settings. We have enjoyed celebrating our national days New Years 4th, Shortbread day 5th and Robin day 6th.
The children have enjoyed returning back to nursery and have been talking about their fantastic Christmas and new year! They got lots of presents π, went for Christmas walks and did fun activities from pantomimes π and ice skating.βΈοΈ
The children have been playing with a new number puzzle,𧩠they have been working together to find the missing pieces and joining them together as well as using their counting skills. π’
Some children have been getting creative π¨and have been painting fireworks π₯ to celebrate the New Year. They have been using their hands, paintbrushes ποΈ and different resources around the room. We have also been measuring how tall we are! The children were very excited to look at the measuring wall and learn that they will grow in one whole year!
Today we have celebrated βShortbread dayβ. Hands up who loves shortbread ππββοΈ.
In messy room we enjoyed making our own shortbread using play dough. This also gave the children the opportunity to work on there cutting with a knife and fork π΄skills.
Some of the children have shown lots of curiosity about wild animals πΌ and sea animals ππ¦π’. We talked about where they live π π and what they like to eat ππΏ and we asked the children to tell us about the animal π¦ππ’.
We had lots of fun in the water π¦ as well. We used the pouring and emptying toys. We used cups, pots, spoons π₯ and jugs.
In babies πΆ we enjoyed helping to clean the room using the hoover, we played with the pots and pans that were in the water tray π¦.
Today in the baby room πΆ we have spent a lot of time β±οΈ in the cosy corner, reading books π and playing with the bead maze! Some of the babies πΆ have enjoyed painting their hands π red π΄ and brown to make handprint robins for robin day. They used googly eyes π and pom-poms to decorate them, whilst a practitioner drew some legs on them.
Today in toddlers π« we have been having so much fun on this chilly cold winter day. π₯Ά.
We began with a little free play with in our construction room π§ to get our bodies warmed up π₯. Playing alongside our peers and having lots of laughs. π€£ However once we had had a little rocket fuel snack π The toddlers were ready to face the messy and colourful fun awaiting for them in the creative room. π¨
On one table we had various materials to celebrate the national day of the Robin π¦, using our π€ ποΈ co ordination and our arty skills the toddlers certainly were creating some fabulous work. π
On the other side of the room we had a sensory tray π₯filled with cocoa powder, foil, shaving foam, tissue paper, cupcake cases π§ and plenty more to help the children explore their natural sences. π€©
After all this super crazy fun, we head into the garden for a little play only for a short while as I think Santa π πΌ would of made an appearance To get his reindeers back with the red noses. ππ΄
Today in preschoolπ« we have been celebrating national Robin day! β¨We have been painting robin pictures using red paint to paint their tummies and then brown paint to paint their arms and legsπ¨ποΈπ€π΄
Following this, we have also been doing some construction by using Lego and blocks to build some bird housesπ‘ We used different tools like hammers, screwdrivers and saws to make them!π οΈπͺπ§πͺ
We have enjoyed making drinks and food for our friends in the role play cafe. π½οΈπ₯£πΆWe asked our friends what they would like and then looked for the ingredients in the food cupboards!π§π©ππ
