Happy New Year

07/01/2022

We have had a fun, exciting and educational week across all our MonkeyMoo settings. We have enjoyed celebrating our national days New Years 4th, Shortbread day 5th and Robin day 6th.

The children have enjoyed returning back to nursery and have been talking about their fantastic Christmas and new year! They got lots of presents 🎁, went for Christmas walks and did fun activities from pantomimes 🎠and ice skating.⛸️

The children have been playing with a new number puzzle,🧩 they have been working together to find the missing pieces and joining them together as well as using their counting skills. πŸ”’

Some children have been getting creative 🎨and have been painting fireworks πŸ’₯ to celebrate the New Year. They have been using their hands, paintbrushes πŸ–ŒοΈ and different resources around the room. We have also been measuring how tall we are! The children were very excited to look at the measuring wall and learn that they will grow in one whole year!

Today we have celebrated β€œShortbread day”. Hands up who loves shortbread πŸ™‹πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ.

In messy room we enjoyed making our own shortbread using play dough. This also gave the children the opportunity to work on there cutting with a knife and fork 🍴skills.

Some of the children have shown lots of curiosity about wild animals 🐼 and sea animals πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ’. We talked about where they live 🌊 πŸŽ‹ and what they like to eat 🐟🌿 and we asked the children to tell us about the animal πŸ¦ˆπŸ‹πŸ’.

We had lots of fun in the water πŸ’¦ as well. We used the pouring and emptying toys. We used cups, pots, spoons πŸ₯„ and jugs.

In babies πŸ‘Ά we enjoyed helping to clean the room using the hoover, we played with the pots and pans that were in the water tray πŸ’¦.

Today in the baby room πŸ‘Ά we have spent a lot of time ⏱️ in the cosy corner, reading books πŸ“– and playing with the bead maze! Some of the babies πŸ‘Ά have enjoyed painting their hands πŸ™Œ red πŸ”΄ and brown to make handprint robins for robin day. They used googly eyes πŸ‘€ and pom-poms to decorate them, whilst a practitioner drew some legs on them.

Today in toddlers πŸ‘« we have been having so much fun on this chilly cold winter day. πŸ₯Ά.

We began with a little free play with in our construction room 🚧 to get our bodies warmed up πŸ”₯. Playing alongside our peers and having lots of laughs. 🀣 However once we had had a little rocket fuel snack πŸš€ The toddlers were ready to face the messy and colourful fun awaiting for them in the creative room. 🎨

On one table we had various materials to celebrate the national day of the Robin 🦜, using our 🀚 πŸ‘οΈ co ordination and our arty skills the toddlers certainly were creating some fabulous work. πŸ™Œ

On the other side of the room we had a sensory tray πŸ“₯filled with cocoa powder, foil, shaving foam, tissue paper, cupcake cases 🧁 and plenty more to help the children explore their natural sences. 🀩

After all this super crazy fun, we head into the garden for a little play only for a short while as I think Santa πŸŽ…πŸΌ would of made an appearance To get his reindeers back with the red noses. πŸ‘ƒπŸ”΄

Today in preschoolπŸ‘« we have been celebrating national Robin day! ✨We have been painting robin pictures using red paint to paint their tummies and then brown paint to paint their arms and legsπŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈπŸŸ€πŸ”΄

Following this, we have also been doing some construction by using Lego and blocks to build some bird houses🏑 We used different tools like hammers, screwdrivers and saws to make them!πŸ› οΈπŸͺšπŸ”§πŸͺ›

We have enjoyed making drinks and food for our friends in the role play cafe. 🍽️πŸ₯£πŸΆWe asked our friends what they would like and then looked for the ingredients in the food cupboards!πŸ§ƒπŸ©πŸŽ‚πŸ•
