The lighter evening are here! Finally we have sprung forward and we can now see daffodils and blossom trees in our local areas beginning to bloom! We just need the sun to begin sun-shining.
The children have been very creative this week. Lots of paint, flour and creative drawing has been happening at our settings. We are also beginning to talk about the wonderful celebration of EID!

Today in the main room this is what we did:-
The children enjoyed recognising their numbers. A grown up told them what number they had to find and the children pointed to the numbers. They focused well and all did so well following instructions. π¦π§ππ’
In the garden the children enjoyed playing different circle games. They chose if they wanted the honey bear game or if they wanted down by the river. They all joined in so well and had lots of fun. π¦π§π»π―πͺ΄
During morning group time the children enjoyed an adult lead activity. The activity was to find what their grown up had said. βCan you find me the frogβ and the children focused well and pointed to when they had found it. π¦π§ππΈπ·π₯π
As well as all this they enjoyed making ramps for their cars and all came up with lots of different ideas. π¦π§πππ‘
Today the Pre-school and Toddlers were at the water tray playingβ² with the rice in water feeling the different textures and using the sieve and to strain the water they were also by the messy tray exploring the oats and raisins using different mixing and pouring technique π
Let’s create!π we have loved getting messy today, making our own play dough out of flour, water, oil and cream of tartar… Carefully pouring the ingredients into a bowl before mixing!π½
Help us!! Babies have been working hard this afternoon to help the insects escape the cornflour quicksandπ. They used their fine motor skills to explore the different textures of the cornflour and were able to free all.of the insects that were stuckπ.
πBaa, Baaπ Baby MonkeyMooers have been babbling and clapping along to common nursery rhymes πΌ lots of bottom shaking and bouncing up and down enjoying in with our rhymes.
This morning in babies we have been exploring our textures with rice and flour. They have enjoyed running the rice through their fingers from different distances and tracing different outlines into the flourβ¨
Dino ice creamsπ¦ In the messy tray the children combined a range of different materials and foods to make some dinosaur ice cream!π¦ They added coco powder and rose petrols to their ice cream cones, creating their own special favour!π₯
Healthy or unhealthy?ππ« In the tuff tray we sorted all the different foods into a healthy, unhealthy and in the middleπ₯π° We discussed the importance of our diet and which foods would make us big and strong!πͺπ»
Story time!π Itβs been a Wednesday filled with different stories today! We enjoyed reading stories all together in group times, talking about all the different characters and plots of the storiesπ and then we enjoyed some independent reading of our person favourites!
How do you feel?π Mixing emotions and creativity today in the art area!π¨ After carefully drawing around our fingers and hands, we expressed the different things which made us feel happy, sad, angry and excited!π’π₯³
We have had a Wonderful Wednesday at Nursery!!!
Today in babies πΆ and toddlers π§π§weβve had an amazing π€© day! We started off the morning getting creative π¨ painting πΌ lots of different animals π¦π° using stensils, paintbrushes π and sponges π§½. We loved π₯° using our motor skills to hold onto the different materials and dab them into the coloured paints π¨ before spreading them across the paper π and pulling the stencil off to reveal our animals π¦π¦.
We then absolutely loved π₯° exploring an animal π¦ tuff tray with many different textures! We enjoyed using our hands π to find the animals and stomp them around the tray! We loved π₯° exploring the rice π, cereal π₯£, blue π΅ custard and sand! We picked up the sand And loved π₯° the feeling of it running through our fingers π.
The preschoolers had a fantastic day exploring our book π of the month β Stick manβ πͺ΅βοΈ we enjoyed listening π the story book π together π―ββοΈ around the tray and shouting π£out the words we knew from the story. We then enjoyed exploring the tray filled with a massive stick man made out of oats, little cotton ball snowballs π¨and leaves π we loved exploring the different textures and making lots of different marks π₯ in the tray.
We have created our very own fishes π . We used cut out paper π plates to create the fish π . We then used our fine motor skills ππ» to hold the glue stick to spread glue over the fishes. We then gently added different coloured tissue paper π to the fishes π to create our beautiful fishes π‘.
