Some of our children have found out what big schools they are moving onto in September and are very excited. So to help them transition from nursery to school we are going to be working with them to gain all the experience’s, knowledge and skills they will need to make this an amazing and exciting time.
Every two weeks the team will come up with some brilliant and fun activities to help the children learn and grow. We have started off with independently getting dressed and undressed.
This is a very good skill to have so the children can get ready for PE lessons when at school!!
Since finding out what schools 🏫 🚸the preschoolers 😊are going to on their next big adventure, they have lots of interest in getting school ready! 😁
Over the last two weeks we have been practicing getting ready for a school 🏫 by working towards getting dressed👗 and undressed 👔 independently, today we have enjoyed taking part in an activity on Trying on lots of uniform 🏫👔items which we might wear when we go to big school! We spoke 🗣about the different Schools we are going to and had lots of fun taking part in this activity, 🤩we can’t wait till we can put on our uniforms in September
Over the past couple of weeks, the school leavers have been practising getting dressed and undressed independently. We have completed this task in such a fun way by using sand timers to see if we can complete it before the sand timer finishes:)
Dressing ourselves independently!
This week the children have been practising how to dress and undress themselves, ready for those exciting PE lessons! First the children took off all their jumpers, this was very quick and easy! Then, each little MonkeyMooer took it in turns to put on their jumper, jacket or hoodie, as their friends cheered them on. Some children even worked a zip and buttons! The children were rewarded with a sticker which said ‘I got dressed all by myself’ and was all so proud of themself!
The preschoolers have been preparing for school this week getting ready for show off their independence 
The children all rushed to stand up with their friends where they were tasked with a race against the time to take their shoes and socks off before putting them back on, clapping each other when they succeeded!
They have also been showing an interest in zipping and unzipping their coats ready for the garden, along with putting their own hats and gloves on without any help from an adult!
To finish off, many of the preschoolers were able to put on their own outfits by starting off with sitting down to put their legs through, then standing up and pulling the outfits over their tummies and sliding their arms in, showing off a massive smile!
