It’s Friday πŸ˜ƒ

This week has been amazing, we have learnt all about diversity with paralympics, learnt how to make a banana split with thanks to the wonderful team at HungryMoose who provided us with an activity sheet as well as a delicious pudding.
We also celebrated National dog day, looking at all the different types of dogs.

Today is the start of the Summer Paralympic πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸš£β€β™€οΈ and we went out to do some of our own summer sport activities. We tried to see how strong πŸ’ͺ we were by doing in press ups πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ. We also did running races πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.

Happy national banana split day! :banana:They enjoyed creating their own banana splits for snack, they had banana’s, :banana:strawberries :strawberry:and blueberries :blueberries: and the most important item whipped cream! They used the knife :hocho: safely to cut up their fruit. The children enjoyed using real bananas  in their water :sweat_drops: play by splashing around seeing if they sink or float. In the afternoon the children did some banana painting :artist: they had the choice between a whole banana or the inside of the banana to see which one made the best marks. We can’t forget about banana’s in pyjamas!!

Today babies :baby: have been celebrating national dog :dog: day. They have been using their hands :raised_hands: to explore making marks with paint :art:. We have been using our hand :hand: prints to make dog faces before exploring stories :book:about dogs. We have also been building towers very high :straight_ruler: to introduce mathematical language such as big and small into the children’s vocabulary.Elsewhere in the nursery, the children :man_and_woman_holding_hands:have been making their own paw :feet: print. They used sponges :sponge: with paint :art:to make them super colourful :red_circle::large_blue_circle:. The children:man_and_woman_holding_hands:have also been decorating their own dog :dog: masks for national puppy day! We used crayons:lower_left_crayon:and pencils:pencil2:to create our masterpieces. Both these activities have helped us with out sharing. We have been very creative :artist:.
