The enjoyment and experiences that we have had this week have been amazing! We have taken a look at lots of different vegetables for health day and what they look like as well as how to grow them. Weβve also looked at photography, with us even taking our very own photos and then ended the week with cupcake day.. yum! The Learning never ends with us here at MonkeyMoos.
What a happy Wednesday everyone! π
For Eat Your Veg Day the babies πΆ have been exploring planting carrots π₯ in the garden then watering π¦ them so they can grow. A wonderful way to introduce an understanding of the world π and how things works. They have also had a sensory π tray with at strawberry π scented water coloured white to smell while pouring. They also had ice π§ to explore to try out different temperatures π‘οΈ.
Toddlers also got in on the vegetable π fun by printing with different vegetables in paint π¨. A messy π©βπ¨ art activity to explore patterns while talking about the texture and colours of the food they are using. They also got their bodies moving πΊ by dancing to their favourite music πΆ. What a way to experience different ways to move around a space to explore how movement affects how we feel such as tired π΄ or energetic.
For Eat Your Veg Day the preschoolers have also been getting in on the action by exploring different vegetables π½ in the mud kitchen π§βπ³. They have been looking π at the distinguishing features of the vegetables while also engaging in some reading π about different food facts. The children have also been creating their own small world π village by using blocks 𧱠and magnets 𧲠to add to the town and act out a day using the small world people π«.
National eat your vegetables π½ day!
The children started off by making different shapes πΊβΎοΈ using celery sticks. They created squares and triangles, the preschoolers used their counting π’skills to estimate how many celery sticks they needed to make the shapes.
In the garden they had a role play market which had fruit π and vegetables. π« They used a knife πͺ to cut all them up and handed them out to their friends.
To finish the day we had a picnic π§Ί tea. The children sat in a circle and ate all the yummy food. They also spoke about when they have picnics with their families, in the park and at home. π¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦
Itβs been a happy snappy kinda day πΈπ
We have spent the day looking at cameras πΈ and exploring what they do, pressing the buttons, looking at different types of cameras π·
They were taught the different angles π the different filters they can use, they found it funny when they turned the pictures black and white β«οΈβͺοΈ
Some of the children practiced writing their names, tracing round there letters and learning how to hold the pencil correctly, whilst others looked at picture books and repeated the words so as Beep!
The exciting time of the day was when the children created a rocket π ship in the garden and blasted of to space π talking about planets πͺ and that they might see aliens.
Babies had fun being active and trying to do flips on the soft mats, this made them giggle as they would fall over. They also had fun joining in with the older children dancing along to activate.
