Elmer Day is day to celebrate Uniqueness, be proud of who you are and your individuality. Don’t try to be someone who you’re not, be you. everyone is different in their own ways and this is why we are proud to celebrate this in many ways at MonkeyMoos.
Highdown
Today Highdown has created their very own Elmer the elephants, deciding what colours they will use and what pattern they will do. the children got stuck in with this activity had had lots of fun with the colours. They also play a matching game where they had to find the matching Elephants, this was great fun and helped them to develop their memory skills.
Winklebury
All the children had lots of fun with this Elmer the Elephant Tuff Tray. The story was read to them first, then they spoke about the colours of the rice and which ones could they see on Elmer, they also used describing words for what they could see in the tuff tray, such as soft, hard, squishy.
They had a go at developing their fine motor skills with the tweezers and filling the cupcake cases up with the pom moms.
Worthing
Look at the creativity going on in Worthing, they wanted to make their very own Colourful play dough, they got the ingredients and then mixed it all together. they then played With it moulding their miniature Elmers. Some of the other children started painting their own patchwork, choosing their colours and carefully painting them into the squares, whilst the little ones are exploring colour mixing with paint in plastic bags which they can squish and see the new amazing colours they’ve created.
