The enjoyment and experiences that we have had to is week have been amazing. We have taken a look at the classic SeaMonkeys and what they look like as well as how to look after them. We’ve teamed up with HungryMoose for Apple Pie Day and then ended the week with numeracy Day. They Learning never ends with us here at MonkeyMoos.
We have been very busy, the babies have had a go at making their very own music 🎶 beating away to the 🪘 drums ‘boom, bang, boom’ they’ve also had a little quiet moment sitting down looking at books 📚
Some of the older children also looked at books 📖 reading them to their friends and talking 💬 about how the story might end, they then had fun exploring the tuff tray where the room on the broom 🧹 was set up, ‘be careful of the swamp monster’
Meanwhile the other children have learnt how to improve their memory with our fun little memory game, can you remember what we took to the beach? 🏖 hehe we hid one can you remember which item?
We have had a splashing day!
The babies 👶 have been playing with water 💦 they used cups ☕️ to experiment filling and pouring the water 💧as well as using our hands 🙌 to splash, and move the water around. They added glitter ✨ and 🧼 to create bubbles; this sparked ⚡️extra fascination and they watched the glitter ✨ move around the water 💧 and popped the bubbles! We have also been experimenting with duplo, to build different sized towers!
Meanwhile the toddlers have been looking 👀 for the Sea Monkeys 🐒 hidden in the oats. Using their fingers and hands🤚 to transport the oats. Later in the day they explored the water 💦 in the garden. Filling up cups and bowls 🥣 with water before pouring it out again.
While this was happening preschool were celebrating Sea Monkey Day by exploring an under the sea 🌊 water tray looking at creatures 🐙 that live under water 💦. They were moving the creatures around the tray in water to create an underwater coral 🐠 narrative. They extended this by looking at making homes 🏠 for different animals using bricks 🧱 They were looking at different animal 🦒 sizes and the size of home they would need to fit them.

The children have been looking how a apple 🍏 grows and what’s inside the apple.🍎 They have enjoyed learning about the life cycle of an apple 🍎 and have cut them with scissors ✂️ and stuck them down with glue.
They have also enjoyed making their own apple pies 🥧 using shaving foam, green play dough, and even weaved the paper 📄 to make it look like the pastry 🥮
To finish off the day we enjoyed our homemade apple biscuits 🍪 and apple 🍏 pie for pudding and they were YUMMY!
