We have had a great week at Monkeymoos full of lots of fun and excitement. We have introduced our new Book and Country of the month as spring has sprung!!
For the whole of March we will be getting involved in lots of fun filled activities and learning lots about The Three Little Pigs Book, Which is a favourite classic book of ours. These activities will be planned to link to the children interests and their next steps.
We will also be learning all about Ukraine through exciting activities and maps. We have invited all of our Ukrainian families into the nursery to talk about their culture and traditions.
We have also been exploring the seasons as we are slowly entering spring and enjoying this beautiful brisk sunny weather. We have explored different resources to create our mummy’s the best cards to celebrate Mothers day coming up!!
What another magical Monday we have had here at MonkeyMoos!
Today in babies 👶 we have had so much fun 🤩
We started the morning getting creative 🎨 making marks. We loved 🥰 dipping the paint 🎨 roller into the yellow🟡paint 🎨 before pushing it across the paper, 📄 making marks. We loved 🥰 using the different rollers to create many different patterns and emitted watching them appear when we moved the roller.
We then went onto doing independent play, where we had lots of fun 🤩 exploring the palace by going up the stairs, crawling through the tunnel and sliding down the slide 🛝. We then went onto building our fine motor skills by using our hands 🙌to pick up and place the building blocks 🧱on top of each other creating different sized towers🗼 and then laughing 😂 whilst knocking them over. And lastly We enjoyed 🥰singing 🎤and listening 👂 to nursery rhymes whilst shaking musical 🎵 instruments to create music 🎶
Toddlers have had a marvellous Monday. We started by decorating ducks 🦆 by using their fine motor skills to pick up some sponges 🧽 to splodge yellow paint 🎨 to make a baby duck 🦆 for Spring time.
We also enjoyed being in the role play room where we got to practice our amazing cutting 🔪 skills using a wooden knife 🔪 to cut up fruit 🍎 and vegetables 🥕to make some yummy dinner 🥘 they even helped by having a grown up at lunch time to cut 🍽up their own meal 🥘 .
We finished off being very active by playing and singing 🎶 sleeping 💤 bunnies 🐰 and seeing how high everyone could jump having lots and lots of fun 🤩
The preschoolers had a fantastic Monday😄 today exploring our shape 🔷🔺🔸 tray. Our tray was filled with sand, lots of little shapes 🔸🔺❤️ paintbrushes 🖌 and tweezers. We took it in turns to uncover the different shapes and use our fine motor skills 👌to pick the shapes🔸🔺 up with the tweezers. We had lots of fun discovering the different shapes😄
We also made our own hand ✋ prints using different coloured paint 🎨 to create flowers 🌸 for our display board. We used lots of different colours 🌈 and enjoyed dipping our hands 🙌🏼 into the cold 🥶 paint.
Leave a mark!✍️ we have shown off our creative side this morning by using chalks, crayons, pens and pencils to create beautiful masterpieces by leaving different marks and shapes on our paper!🖌️
Lets explore!👀 we have enjoyed exploring the tuff tray today full of different building resources of wooden blocks and mega blocks, along with tasting and feeling textures of dried pasta, wheaties and sunflower seeds!🖐👅
🐷 Oink, Oink 🐷 MonkeyMooers have enjoyed creating their own pig from the story of the month: Three little pigs 🐷🐷🐷 using pink playdough they added eyes, snout, ears, tail and trooters to make their pig come to life ❤

Today in Preschool we have been getting Mothers Day ready💐! The children have been making their mummy’s/ nanny’s and carers a lovely card to show their appreciation and how much they love them. They have been painting, colouring and sticking lots of different decorations to their cards to make them beautiful and sparkly all ready to take home.😍
It’s been a lovely, sunny day at MonkeyMoo’s and the children have been enjoying lots of garden fun!🏡
Mini beasts!🐞🐛🐜 The children found lots of Mini beasts hidden around the garden and they needed to take them back to their homes! We found butterflies🦋, wasps🐝, caterpillars🐛 and beetles!🪲
Obstacle course! The children practiced their balancing skills by creating a challenging obstacle course with tyres!🛞 With their arms out beside them for extra balance, the children managed to safely climb across!
Book of the month!📚 This month we are enjoying lots of activities about the 3 little pigs!🐷 Today the children created their own houses to for the pigs to stay safe in from the big bad wolf🐺. They used straws and spaghetti, pom poms and lollipop sticks!

Today in baby room👶 we have had lots of fun playing and exploring!.
For our group activity, we decided to make pictures using the paint dabbers!. 🎨 the babies were really intrigued by the dabbers, they sat so well together and were sharing different colours. The babies had so much fun dabbing the pens on their paper!. 🖌
We’ve also had fun exploring the busy board! The younger babies especially enjoyed exploring the different parts of the board, using their hands 🙌 to feel and ears👂to listen to noises they could hear.
The babies really enjoy stacking so to suppprt their next steps to join in with group activities we did a group activity with the stacking ring! They all took in turns to complete the stacking ring! They had lots of fun watching each other and sharing the toy with each other!👶👶
Out in the big room with preschool and toddlers:
As it’s world book day the children came in dressed as a character, super hero, princess and many more. They enjoyed showing off their costumes to their friends and grown ups. Just come and take a look at how brilliant they look. 👧👦👀👸🦸♂️🌎📚
In our messy room the children enjoyed the fun activities that we had set up. On the tray it was based around “The Little Princess” story. Which was called “I want me Potty”. The children did so well to clean and change the dolly’s nappies, they each advised each other on what to do and how to be gentle with the dolly’s. 👧👦👶💦
On the table the children enjoyed doing a dabbing pen activity. They enjoyed using a variety of colours and did really well to focus and took their time to be creative. 👧👦🖊🔴🟣🔵🟢
In our tray we had different vegetables. The children used plastic knives to cut up the vegetables and took it in turns to use the equipment. We spoke about the healthy eating and why eating healthy is best for our bodies. The children told their grown ups that they like eating vegetables at home and at nursery. 👧👦🥕🥔🥬
We ended the day with a Mad Hatters tea party. Which the children enjoyed cucumber sandwiches, sausage rolls, crudités and biscuits. 👧👦👶🥕🥒🍪🥪
The preschoolers also enjoyed a trip out to the field today! We did so much fun running! We played football and kicked the ball to our friends. We used bats and balls and played games of tennis! We did some digging with sticks, finding massive sticks!! We searched for more ladybugs and picked flowers! 💐☀️🏃♀️🐞
We enjoyed more stories today! As it’s World Book Day, we came in as our favourite story characters!! Some of the preschoolers brought books in! Today we read Rapunzel! We loved her golden long hair and listening to the story of her hair. We love reading stories and using our listening ears! 📚😊👂🙉
