We have had a wonderful and busy week we have had exploring lots of different activities around the children’s next steps, interests, book of the month, country of the month as well as our curiosity days!!
For February we are enjoying the book THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLER!! This is one of the children’s favourite book in all four nurseries. The children have already been having lots of fun taking part in activities that have been planned around the children next steps, interests and that are from the story THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLER!!
We are also enjoying learning all about PHILIPPINES. The children are exploring the country through activities, maps etc. We have also invited all of our PHILIPPINESS parents/carers into the nursery to share with everyone their culture.
Our curiosity days this week are celebrating FOUR NATION RUGBY. The children have enjoyed playing rugby as well as learning all about each of the countries that have been playing rugby on the telly. We have also celebrated BREAD DAY, so if the children got to taste different types of bread such as seeded bread, rolls, french stick and then voted to see which one was their favourite, while some of the other children got to make their very own bread roll. The children enjoyed measuring out their ingredients and mixing them all together but their favourite part was kneading all the ingredients together. And lastly some of the other children got to make their very own sandwiches, they choose which bread they wanted as well as their fillings. The children learnt how to butter their bread as well as safely using a knife to cut up some cheese, cucumber or tomato. The children were very proud of their sandwiches. And lastly all the children enjoyed FAIRY TALE DAY, the children and the staff all enjoyed dressing up as their favourite fairy tale character. The children have an amazing day making their very own fairy tale potions, reading their favourite fairy tales with all of their friends and making their very own fairy tale crowns.
Little chefs!👨🏼🍳 Today our MonkeyMooers became chefs in the tuff tray, on todays menu was… Jacket potato’s!🥔 We safely used our knife’s to make some small cuts in the top of our potatoes before adding butter and cheese! We then popped them into the oven, waited and watched whilst they cooked, before taking them out and serving them to the restaurant!
Drawing!✍🏽 The children were filled with creativity today! In the art area we drew pictures of our Mummy’s and Daddy’s👨👩👧 Rainbows and butterflies🦋 We even drew our own fire trucks!🚒
Story time!📚 The children got cosy in the story area with pillows, blankets and teddys🧸 to read our favourite stories! We enjoyed the book of the month, The Very Hungry Caterpillar🐛 The Dinosaur that Pooped🦖 and We’re going on a bear hunt!🐻
Story time!📚 we have shown off brilliant listening eats today by sitting down to read a jungle themed book all about dinosaurs, practicing our closest ROARS🐯
Today our babies have been exploring our Philippines tufftray for our country of the month and building with the colour of our flag🇵🇭
⚛✔Recycle and reuse ✔⚛ using recycled objects which we have used at nursery, our MonkeyMoos had their creative thinking caps on and created their very own masterpieces. Using paint, scissors, gluea and tape. ⚛✔
In baby room today we’ve been playing in the ball pit, exploring different games that we can play⚽. Our favourite was throwing, we threw the balls to each other and to adults to play catch!🏀
👶🐵Today the MonkeyMooers have had an educational experience learning how to change a babies nappy. For this learning activity we used cotton wool, nappies, some wipes and chocolate spread! They have thoroughly enjoyed it and had a one to one experience with it as well as group interactions with friends. 💩👶
We started the morning getting creative 🎨 decorating our very own tulips 🌷 using a fork 🍴 and paint 🎨. We used our motor skills to hold onto the fork 🍴 and dip it into the paint 🎨 before pressing it onto the paper creating the tulips 🌷 petals. We then added on some green stems.
We then explored a dinosaur 🦕 tray where we explored 3 different textures. We enjoyed feeling the hay, chai seeds and green gloop. We used our hands 🙌 and feet 👣 to Stomp like dinosaurs 🦖 around the tray and say ‘ROARRR’!
Toddlers are having a magical 🪄 fairy tale day 🧚♀️🧚🏻. We have so much wonder 💭 that is going to explore their imagination.
We have an amazing fairy 🧚♀️ dust activity to create their own magic spells 🪄 they get a chance to refine their fine motor skills 👌using their finger tips to make so many lovely wishes 🌟come true.
We also have a wonderful magical fairy 🧚♂️ that we are going to decorate using tissue paper and foil. We are using our fine motor skills 👌 to tear the pieces of tissue paper and foil. We then used glue spreaders to spread glue over the page 📄 to make the most beautiful 😍 and magical 🪄 fairy to help with the fairy dust 🌟 to grant their wishes.
We will also be looking at different fairy tale 🧚♀️books 📖 during group time and listening to what happens in them and seeing if we know any part of the story 📖

Today the babies have had so much fun!. They’ve played with the rainbow🌈 abacus, they loved moving the beads from one side to the other!.
They’ve also had lots of fun reading stories by themselves and with they’re grown ups 📚 looking at all the pictures and babbling about them!.
The babies have enjoyed playing with interactive musical xylophone! They loved pressing the buttons and listening to the music that came from the speaker🎶 look how engaged we all look👀

In the morning, the toddlers explored the messy room with some of our baby friends! We had a go at our colourful feather and pompoms tray! We flew the feathers high up and tickled our friends. We squished the pom-poms and even found some googly eyes! We listened to the shaky sound of the eyes and had so much fun exploring! 😁🎭🎨
In preschool group time today, we looked at matching our numbers!! We helped our friends count and point our numbers out. We are practicing recognising our numbers for when some of us go up to big school! We love to count and practice our numbers. We can now look at even BIGGER numbers!! 👩🏫💯👧
