What an amazing week we have had at MONKEYMOOS!!!

We have had a wonderful and busy week we have had exploring lots of different activities around the children’s next steps, interests, book of the month, country of the month as well as our curiosity days!!

For February we are enjoying the book THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLER!! This is one of the children’s favourite book in all four nurseries. The children have already been having lots of fun taking part in activities that have been planned around the children next steps, interests and that are from the story THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLER!!

We are also enjoying learning all about PHILIPPINES. The children are exploring the country through activities, maps etc. We have also invited all of our PHILIPPINESS parents/carers into the nursery to share with everyone their culture.

Our curiosity days this week were celebrating FOUR NATION RUGBY. The children have enjoyed playing rugby as well as learning all about each of the countries that have been playing rugby on the telly. We have also celebrated CHINESE NEW YEAR, this year was the year of the dragon. The children all got to make their very own dragons. The children also learnt that CHINESE use a different language and their words and numbers look very different to the English language. The children also got to try and variety of different CHINESE food such as prawn crackers, vegetable spring rolls etc. We have also celebrated PANCAKE DAY!! The children have all learnt how to make pancakes they have been practicing their maths skills by measuring out the different ingredients. They have also learnt how to toss their very own pancake. The preschoolers had a discussion about what there favourite toppings are and if these were healthy or unhealthy. The children also enjoyed eating the pancakes that they had made. And lastly this week we also celebrated VALENTINE’S DAY, the children all got to design their very own card for their loved ones. As well as discussing in groups times something kind about all of their friends.

What a terrific Tuesday our Monkeyโ€™s have had๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™‰โญ๏ธ

We started off our morning in the dinosaur stomping tuff tray๐Ÿฆ– The T-rex stomped on all the malted weaties, turning them into dust! The diplodocus munched all the oats to fill up their tummies๐Ÿฆ• and the Ichthyosaur took a swim in the deep, blue water!๐ŸŒŠ

The children began preparing for Valentineโ€™s Day!๐Ÿ’• In the arts and crafts area they created and decorated the most beautiful love heartsโค๏ธ using all the different coloured crayons๐Ÿ–๏ธ sparkly sequins and ripped up tissue paper!

The ball game!๐Ÿ€ The children sat in a big circle to play one of our favourite games this afternoon, the ball game! During this game we practice our sharing and communication skills. The children waited patiently for their names to be called out and the ball to be rolled towards them!

๐ŸฝPancake Day๐Ÿฝ

๐ŸตThis morning for snack time the MonkeyMooers had pancakes for pancake day and they had an option to have maple syrup of shipped cream with it there devoured every last crumb of it and was also using their senses to smell and feel the textures of it๐Ÿฝ

Babies have enjoyed exploring the colours red and orange๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ดusing their fine motor skills to feel the textures of hard and soft rice, whilst standing their own!๐Ÿšถ

Splash!๐Ÿณ Today the babies have been playing in our water based activity for fine motor skills. They enjoyed playing with the different balls and balloons and seeing what effects it has been being placed, thrown or guided through water๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ

This morning for snack time babies had pancakes to celebrate pancake day๐ŸŽ‰! The children were given the chance to explore the texture and taste of pancakes with different toppings.๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜‹

Preschool and toddlers got creative this morning, decorating pancakes and adding glitter, paint, cotton wool and pens. Monkey Moos loved this activity and pretened to eat their pancake! ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‡

๐ŸณPancake batter ๐Ÿณ Happy Pancake Day! MonkeyMoos have enjoyed mixing, beating and pouring all of the ingredients needed to make very yummy pancakes๐Ÿ˜‹.Using different size bowls, wisks and spoons to add flour, eggs and milk. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

When life gives you lemons…๐Ÿ‹ all the children had a tasting session with lemons for afternoon snack, finding out that they are sour and bitter through pulling the funniest faces!๐Ÿ˜

Today in Preschool\ Toddlers we have been having some fun in the garden๐ŸŒฟ. MonkeyMoos have been playing in the den,and hiding from their friends๐Ÿ™ˆ. Whilst others have been riding bikes and playing on scooters. They loved going out after snack to burn some energy all ready to have tea later on.๐Ÿž

We have had lots of fun taking part in activities for national Chinese new year, The year of the Dragon!!!!

Today in babies ๐Ÿ‘ถ weโ€™ve had an amazing ๐Ÿคฉ day celebrating ๐Ÿฅณ the Chinese ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ new year ๐ŸŽ‡.

We started off the morning getting creative ๐ŸŽจ decorating our very own paper ๐Ÿ“„ plate fans! We used our motor skills to spread glue across the fan before sticking on different coloured tissue paper ๐Ÿ“„ and drawing โœ๏ธ with red ๐Ÿ”ด and yellow ๐ŸŸก crayons ๐Ÿ–. We made lots of different patterns and sprinkled on some glitter โœจ. 

We then explored a blossom tree ๐ŸŒฒ tuff tray where we used leaf ๐Ÿƒ paint ๐ŸŽจ sponges ๐Ÿงฝ to print the leaves ๐Ÿƒ on the branches. We used our motor skills to hold onto the sponges ๐Ÿงฝ and dip them into the pink ๐Ÿ’— paint ๐ŸŽจ. We dabbed the sponge ๐Ÿงฝ all around the tree ๐ŸŒณ creating pink ๐Ÿ’• leaves ๐Ÿ/ flowers ๐ŸŒธ.

The preschoolers and toddlers had an amazing day today celebrating Chinese New Year ๐Ÿงง ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ

We started off the day in the creataive room decorating our very own cherry ๐Ÿ’ blossom tree ๐ŸŒณ ๐ŸŒธ the tuff tray was filled with paper and branches drew on. It was our job to scrunch up pink tissue paper ๐Ÿ“„ to make our cherry blossoms ๐ŸŒธwe used glue sticks to carefully glue our branches and then carefully used our hands ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป to squash down the tissue paper ๐Ÿ“‘ 

We also had ago at working on our counting and used dragons ๐Ÿ‰ to count all the way up to 10 ๐Ÿ”Ÿ we used our counting fingers ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป and adults ๐Ÿ‘ฉ to help us . We also looked ๐Ÿ‘€ to see if we could point out the biggest dragon ๐Ÿ‰ and the smallest dragon ๐Ÿ‰

๐Ÿ’•itโ€™s Valentineโ€™s Day today!๐Ÿ’•ย 

Weโ€™ve had lots of fun celebrating and talking about who we love in our lives!. We hope you enjoy the childrens cards that theyโ€™ve enjoyed decorating for all you mummies and daddies!๐Ÿ’•

Today the babies had lots of fun playing with a sauce pan. They especially liked putting them in their heads and laughing when doing so. Babies did well to take it in turns to share the sauce pan. Just come and take a look at how much fun they were having. ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™ve had lots of fun doing lots of different activities such as shape sortingโ—ผ๏ธ!, reading stories ๐Ÿ“š, playing musical instruments and sharing the musical instruments with each other!๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽถweโ€™ve also had fun playing dress up, just look at us!!.

We have had a lovely Wednesday! ๐Ÿ˜ In the morning, we had a big group time with both preschool and toddlers! Today we look at our letters with our scoops of ice cream! Us preschoolers helped the toddlers find the right letter, we were very happy to help the smaller children!! ๐Ÿฆโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

We had a VALENTINES DAY themed tuff tray today!! We loved this tray! It was full of colourful red sensory items, hearts, and lots of texture! We used our hands to get a bit messy with the water, rice and shaving foam! ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿช„โค๏ธ

In the afternoon we then made Valentines Day cards for our mummies and daddies! We did lovely red handprints and our grown ups helped us write about how much we love our mummies and daddies!โค๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜
