A wonderful week of fun and laughter at MonkeyMoos this week. We visited Germany for our country of the week. The children learnt how to make pretzels by bending the play dough into the pretzel shapes. They also took a trip down a German canal in their water tray too. We have been doing our bit for the environment this week by teaching the children about how to keep our oceans clean and the importance of recycling for World Environment Day. The sun has been shining and is hopefully here to stay also! Lots of walks in the local areas have also been enjoyed.

Who can help to save the turtle?🐢 Our litter pickers took to the messy tray to clean up all the rubbish floating around in the sea using tweezers and spoons to transfer all the litter into a bin bag by working as a team. 🚮

Save our planet!🌎 Our children focused on their recycling knowledge today over at the tuff tray by talking about what rubbish can be recycled and what cannot be such as: cardboard for recycling, food to go in the food waste bin and jam jars go into the glass box. 🗑

What is heaviest?🤔Our curious children teamed up to see what items weighed the most and which ones were the lightest. Each child were tasked with finding two objects and placing them on either end of the scale to reveal the heavier and lighter item. ⚖️

Who are you going to call?📞 The Monkey Mooers showed off their creative side by making their very own recycled phones using only string and paper cups to call each other. ☎️

What can you create?🧐Our inventors took to the messy table to create their very own masterpieces out of different recyclable items such as: yoghurt pots, cardboard boxes, kitchen roll holders, paper cups, lollipop sticks and feathers!♻️🎨

This morning the preschoolers who are going to school took a trip to a local school where some maybe going to on September. This is all part of our school readiness and the children had a great time. We spoke about going to school and the children seem to be super excited. They all said the school is huge. 👧👦🏫

The children have enjoyed playing with all different kinds of sensory textures today. In the tyres they enjoyed sand and soil and did a great job and sweeping it up when it got a little messy. Then in the messy room they enjoyed playing in the farm themed tray with different cereal textures for them to play and eat which they did. 👦👧🐏🐄🐖✋😋🧹

This morning the babies enjoyed using different colour crayons to colour in a dinosaur picture, They did well to hold on to a crayon and did great colouring. 👶🦖🦕🖍

They also spent some time in the garden where they enjoyed exploring everything out there, they especially liked practising their running and walking skills. 👶🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️🪴

Today in babies 👶 we have had a lovely day! We have enjoyed some activities for upsy daisy day! 

Firstly we liked exploring a tissue paper activity, which had some in the night garden 🪴 characters hidden within the paper 📄. The babies 👶 used their hands 🙌 to move the tissue paper 📄 around, searching 👀🔎 for Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. 

The babies 👶 later on enjoyed playing with babies 👶 in the garden 🪴. Giving them a bubble 🫧 bath 🛁. They used the sponges 🧽 and flannels to wash 🧼 their babies 👶 before taking them out of the bath 🛁 and wrapping them up in a towel, making them all cosy. 

The babies 👶 then went over to read some books 📚 in the cosy corner with their practitioners. Looking at the pictures, and listening 👂 nicely.

Today toddlers 🧒have been celebrating Upsy Daisy/positivity 😁day! This morning the toddlers have been making some thank you cards for someone special 👫. The toddlers used some glue with some glue sticks which they then spread over their pictures. 🖼The toddlers then chose from a range of different colour🟣🔴⚪️🔵 glitter ✨ to sprinkle and decorate their picture 🖼with! After they had finished their card the practitioner asked who they are giving it too! 👫

The toddlers have also been exploring in an artic tray❄️, full of snow ❄️made from talcum powder and baby oil. The tray also was full of different creatures 🐧🦭🐻‍❄️that could be found in the artic. ❄️They enjoyed feeling the textures of the ‘snow’ and naming all the different animals! 🐧🐻‍❄️🦭

The toddlers have also enjoyed building with the magnetic shapes! 🧲💠They have been building all sort from rockets 🚀 to tents! ⛺️ The toddler have been talking 🗣about the shapes 🔺◻️⚪️they have been using while they build!

Today in preschool we have had lots of fun 🤩 celebrating national Upsy Daisy/ Positvity day. 

We have been using mirrors 🪞 to look at our self’s. So we could then draw our reflections. We used our fine motor skills to hold crayons 🖍and coloured pencils ✏️. We independently chose what colours we wanted to use. We created lovely 😊 art work 🖼.

In our tuff tray we created a friend potion 🧪. We had a large bowl mob the middle of the tray and we gradually added different liquids to make what is a friend. We said kind hands 🙌🏾, sharing toys 🧸, looks out for us when we are upset 😭, gives hugs 🤗 and good listening ears 👂.

Some of our school leavers also took a walk to their local schools this morning! We spoke about their new school uniforms and what they need to put in their book bags! We were really excited to see where we would go in and if we could see any big children!!
