We have been celebrating the Kings Coronation this week. There has been tea parties with all of royalties favourites- including scones. What do you put first though? Jam or Cream? We have been wishing the sun to make a longer appearance by learning all about the sunshine and having sunshine themed activities on Wednesday. We have also been learning all about firefighters and the incredible job that they do. A week full of experiences, like every week at MonkeyMoos.

Today we have celebrated National Sun ☀️ Day and the sun came out especially for us to have fun with!

We have spent great time outside in the sunshine! ☀️ We have been working together to build a train 🚂 out of the blocks, using different size shapes and using circles as the steering wheels 🛞. Once the train was ready we all climbed aboard and chu chued our way to the beach. 🏖

Next stop as we enjoyed building so much as put the tyres 🛞 all in a line and added more challenge for us by adding them at different angles and heights. We them stood on a line and waited for a safe space for us to balance, crawl, climb our way across and jumping big at the end!

We have learned about all the weathers today and not just the sun. ☀️ We all had a chance to speak and identify the different weathers and then had to match them together with the correct pictures and objects.

What colours are in the sun?…. After discussing the colours of the sun, which we spoke about red 🔴, yellow 🟡and orange🟠. We turned into scientist 👩‍🔬 and made a sun ☀️ in a bottle! Firstly we added oil to the bottle which was then topped up with water 💧 and the colour we decided we wanted to use and lastly we shaked them all together and then magic 🪄 happened and we had a sun in a bottle.

A different way we approached National Sun Day was making our own newspapers. 🗞We looked at a newspaper and spoke about all the interesting fun facts we could see from food, animals and even the king! 👑 We then used our imagination skills to interpret our own creation of a newspaper. We had some much fun creating these, they were all filled with rainbows!🌈

In our tuff tray we had a fun firefighting activity set up for the children to play with. We used stray bottles with water to put the pretend fire out and used the fire engine to get us to where we needed to be. We also spoke about how dangerous fire can be and how we have to be very safe around them. 👧👦👩👨‍🚒🚒💦🔥

We then enjoyed going out to the ball courts were we enjoyed running around playing chase and letting off lots of energy before coming back to nursery. 👧👦⚽️🏃🏃‍♀️

Just before preschool had their lunch they went over to the field on a hunt to find snails and worms and they did. The children held them in their hands and was very careful not to hurt them once they had finished they put them back where they belong. 👧👦🤲🪱🐌

As today was also Star Wars Day the children enjoyed this colour lightsaber activity and did really well to correctly tell their grown ups what colour was what. 👧👦👩🔴🟢🟡🔵

Babies have had a great day. 👶

They have enjoyed going down on their slide and laughing when they reached the bottom and did it all over again. 👶😄

They joined for the ball courts adventure and also did so well to practise their walking skills and joined in with the older children’s activities. They also thought it was very funny being chased by the older children.

They needed a little rest after such fun being out this morning and sat nicely with their grown ups looking at books. 👶👩📚

The sun has been shining 🌞!!

Today in babies 👶 we have been celebrating 🥳 firefighters 🧯 day and May the 4th be with you ⭐️  

In our tuff tray we had a big drawing ✍️ of a fire 🔥 and some spray bottles next to it. The babies 👶 used the bottles of water 💦 to spray and put the fire 🔥 out. This was good for their gross motor skills, squeezing their hands 🙌 on the bottles. 

The babies 👶 have liked experience a rice character tray for Star Wars, the character was Grogu made with green and brown rice. The babies 👶 used their hands 🙌 to feel the sticky rice. 

The babies 👶 later on enjoyed a game of ‘bowling’ using a ball ⚽️ to knock ✊ down the star ⭐️ wars characters on cups.

The preschoolers and toddlers have had lots of fun today celebrating national fire day🔥🚒

We drew our own fires🔥 using chalk🖍. We used black paper ⚫️ with red ❤️yellow 💛 and orange 🧡 chalk to represent the colours of fire 🔥 we loved making lots of different marks on the paper using the different colours 🍥

We also became firefighters 👩🏻‍🚒🚒 and put out our own fire🔥 the tray was filled with yellow 💛 and red ❤️ rice and small world buildings🏠 with red ❤️yellow💛 and orange 🧡 tissue paper inside to represent the fire 🔥 our job was to use the spray bottles filled with water 💦 to put the fires out🔥

In the garden we had our own tea ☕️ party 🎉 the table was set out for us to have our own feast🧺. There was chairs🪑 and blue picnic Blanket 💙 and lots of food for us to play with 🍰 🥖 🍅 we had lots of fun using our imagination 💭 

We did our own letter 🔡 hunt🔎 the tray was filled with flour and magnetic 🧲 letters 🔡 for us to find 🔎 we had lots of fun counting 🔢how many we had found and also learning lots of new letters too😃
