This week has been all about Road Safety as we got involved with the National ‘BEEP BEEP’ Day. It is so important to teach our little ones about how to cross the road safely and what to look out for when walking near a road. The children all went out on walks and were taught all about road safety.

We have also taken a trip to Columbia this week, even having a themed pudding at lunchtime. Theres been many children showing off their superpowers this week for SuperHero day as well as lots of wonderful stories read for Read a Story day. Another fabulous week at MonkeyMoos.

What bugs can you find?🐞 Outside, our explorers went on the search for bugs by looking under logs, through the wood chips, under the tyres and digging in the soil until the group of children found a worm to take over to bug city where they fed it leaves and mud!🪱🍁

Can you spell your name?✍🏼 Over in the messy area, our artists took to the table where they spelt out their own names using different art resources such as pasta, sequins and cotton wool to fill out the individual letters of their names. 🔠

Time to test our memory! 🧠The Monkey Mooers took it in turns to see how strong their memory was by looking at items on a tray before closing their eyes and an adult would remove an item and encourage the children to point out the missing items such as unicorns, duplo, dominoes and scissors.🦄✂️

I hear thunder!🌩 The rain began to pour outside and thunder could be heard across Monkey Moos! The children rushed to the doors to watch the thunder and rain continue for the afternoon!☔️

It’s a beautiful sunny day what better weather to go to the park. We loved the park. We did so well to walk all the way there and back by holding hands with our grown up and with our friends. Once we were in the park we loved being spun around in the spinning bowl and in the roundabout and then we enjoyed going down the slide and say hi to our friend up in the tall tower. 👧👦👩☀️

In our sensory tuff tray we loved the penguin themed tray. It had ice, flour, shaving foam and water and we loved the ice texture on our hands, it was freezing. 👧👦✋🐧

At the table we enjoyed drawing penguins on paper using different colours. On the paper there were pencils already drawn on so we copied them to help us. We spoke about penguins were they live and how big did we think there were. 👧👦🐧🖍

Babies have enjoyed doing lots of different activities today. They have enjoyed being in the garden were they enjoyed building with the duplo bricks with help from their grown ups. They also enjoyed playing in the ball pool. 👶👩⚽️🧱

In their room they enjoyed looking at books and looking at the pictures with their grown ups. Their grown ups tried to read the story but they much prefer to look at the pictures and turn the page. 👶👩📚👆

Then they enjoyed rolling a large ball with theirs peers and grown ups. They did so well to roll the ball using their hands and crawling to go get the ball back. 👶✋⚽️

In babies today we have been learning about Beep beep day/ road safety day. 

Firstly we used some paper plate steering wheels 🛞 to pretend we were driving a car 🚗. We picked the wheel 🛞 up and moved them up and down whilst walking around the room. 

We then liked playing in the garden 🪴 in our jungle cruise 🚢 tuff tray. We moved the boat 🚤 and the little people around the tray, into the sand and sea 🌊. We also moved them through our broccoli 🥦 trees 🌳. 

The babies 👶 have also been painting 🖼 and decorating their own paper plate sunflowers 🌻. They used a paintbrush 🖌 to make the plate black before spreading some glue over the top and sticking on some yellow petals.

Today in toddlers👫 they have been learning about road safety day! 

Some of the children went on a long walk to the park. The wore high vest jackets, They held hands with the practitioners and helped to the buttons at the traffic lights 🚦 to look 👀 at the red men to stop 🛑 and the green men to go. The waited for the green man to show and the cars 🚗 to stop 🛑 and look left and right to make sure it was safe to cross over the road. When they got the park they played on the slide 🛝, swings, roundabout and seesaw they lots fun 🤩 playing at the park. 

The toddlers also explored the dinosaur 🦖 🦕 activity. They have been gluing and sticking ear buds to make a skeleton 🩻 for their dinosaurs. was They also stuck on some leaves 🍃 for their dinosaur. They also picked the toy dinosaurs and said “roarrr!!”

The preschoolers had a fantastic day today! 

This morning we explored the frog 🐸 pond💦tuff tray! To start it off we read the story book📕📚called life cycle of a frog🐸 we spoke about how frogs are tadpoles and how they become frogs🐸 

Some of us went to the park for beep beep day! We were lucky enough to learn how to cross a road 🚗🚙safely with the support of our adults. We used the traffic lights🚦 And made sure we looked left right and left again🛑

We also did some colouring 🖍of traffic lights to learn the different colours of the lights🚦we spoke about red meaning stop 🛑 and green means go💚. This afternoon we had lots of fun in the garden 🪴 we love exploring the different toys and playing lots of fun games🎲 with our friends👯‍♀️
