National Different eye colour day – This day allows us the opportunities to talk about the similarities in us all, eyes are our key features and they are easy to talk about. The children will get the opportunity to count how many eye colours we have in nursery, creating new eye colours, looking at other features and similarities too. This will be an opportunity for us to start an all about me session with the children extending their learning.
National I love Horses day – This day is so cute, looking at different horses and ponies. The children can research different breeds of horses and where they live, compare horses from around the world, talk about horse races and even role play becoming a race horse or a farm horse. some children may not have even had the opportunity to see horses.
National picnic month – with the weather starting to become nice again we thought why not celebrate picnic month, we will be having picnic teas, and of course the famous teddy bears picnic, which one of your favourite teddies will you bring along? the children will also get the chance to talk about what they think should be in a picnic and create pictures detailing this. they can help make sandwiches too developing those fine motor skills and self help skills. Numeracy plays a part too as they will need to count how many children we have and if we have enough for the picnic, lets not forget our friends.
