We have had a wonderful and busy week we have had exploring lots of different activities around National Days. The children have had fun learning all about Pharmacy week, the children enjoyed pretending to be doctors and making their own medicine to make all the babies feel better. We have also been learning about pasta this week, we have learnt how to make pasta, we have learnt about all the different types of pasta from Penne to Macaroni to spaghetti. We enjoyed talking about our favourite pasta dishes too. And lastly we have been learning all about Vietnam where it is on the map and how far away it is, we also discussed how we would get there and if we would walk how long that would take. We also discussed the language they spoke etc.
Itβs National Pasta Day!π
Pasta, spaghetti, macaroni and noddles!π The children have been exploring all the different types of pasta! They scooped and mixed all the different pastaβs into saucepans, whilst describing the different texturesπ§π½βπ³
In the tuff tray we had a BIG spaghetti and meatball feast! Using wet and slimy spaghetti, and play dough meatballs, the children chopped, twirled and fed the pasta to the teddy bears that joinedπ§Έ
The children wanted to create their own musical instruments today, and amazingly decided to use pasta!π₯ The children filled yoghurt pots with pasta, sealed them shut and then dance around, jumping and shaking their creation!π
The babies have enjoyed being in the messy room playing in a very messy activity. The activity was shaving foam and sea animals. Some babies were not a fan of the messy texture and would not put their hands in but were happy to watch their friends. They really enjoyed exploring with their hands and finding the sea creatures. They engaged well with their grown ups and peers and had lots of fun. πΆπ©π€²πππ
For more mark making activities we then enjoyed mark making on the chalk board. Whilst playing in the messy room some of the babies walked over to do some chalking so we brought the chalk board to the baby room for them to all enjoy. They had a great time choosing a colour chalk of their choice and spent a long amount of time being creative. Just come and take a look. πΆππ΅π’π‘βͺοΈπ
During toddlers group time they enjoyed sitting with their peers and grown ups playing with the connects. They connected them together and their grown up was engaging with them asking questions on colours and getting them to think about what they were making and using their imagination. π¦π§π©π’π‘π΅π΄
