This week has been full of such fun and creativity. This week the children have been exploring lots of different textures and have been super keen to take part in national pasta day, international chef day and getting in the spooky spirit ready for halloween.
The children 👦👧 have enjoyed playing in the pasta 🍝 themed tuff tray. They rolled the play dough to make their own pasta 🍝.
We also spoke about what pasta do we enjoyed 😋 eating at home. Some children said spaghetti 🍝 and some said twisty pasta with tomato 🍅 sauce.
In phonics area the children 👦👧 enjoyed taking part in our pasta 🍝 phonics letter activity. The children 👦👧 chose what letter they wanted to do and on a chalk board they made the letter. The children 👦👧 did really well to try and draw each letter they chose.
Some of the children went for a walk 🚶♀️to the play park. They enjoyed swings, slide and the roundabout. Some of the little ones went as well and did well to walk 🚶♀️to the park holding a grown ups hand ✋.
In babies 👶 they have enjoyed being tickled by our older children 👦👧. They laughed so much and kept going back for more. Look how ticklish they are.
The babies 👶 have also enjoyed knocking down our animal 🦓🦒 skittles. They did well at this activity.
As well as all this they had some fun playing in the kitchen 🍗🍞🥬 area. They made some delicious dishes.
We have enjoyed playing with the boats 🛥️ on the water 💦. We filled a tray up with water 💦 and placed a long piece of guttering down to the floor from it. As a practitioner tipped some water 💦 down the gutterings the babies 👶 picked up a boat 🚤 each and placed it at the top 🔝 and watched as the boats 🚤 sailed down the guttering. “Wow” said the older babies 👶.
We then enjoyed exploring a pumpkin 🎃 filled tray with a train 🚂 track going around the tray. They used their hands 🙌 to push the trains around the track and through the pumpkins 🎃 that had little doors 🚪 cut out either side. They used their hands 🙌 and fingers to feel the inside of the pumpkins 🎃 it was wet and slimy- YUCK 🤢. Some babies 👶 even tried the pumpkin 🎃 seeds!We have had a fantastic 🤩day in toddlers 👫today! We have loved exploring our Halloween sensory tray which was filled with spider🕷️Monsters👹rice🍚lentils and pasta! 🍝During this activity we loved playing with the spooky spiders🕷️ and cobwebs🕸️ and counting how many we could see! We also enjoyed scooping and pouring the rice and lentils and searching for monsters! 🧐🔍
We then ventured into our creative✨ room to explore a vehicle tuff tray! We talked about what each vehicle 🚔🚂🛥️is and how they are important to us! As we explored the tray we enjoyed putting the small world people🧕👨🏾✈️🧍♀️👷🏻♂️ into the train and taking them for a ride along the seafront to look at the boats!
As today is national chef 👩🍳🍳⏲️day we thought to become chefs ourselves! But before we could do this we made up our own menus📖 using our imagination ✨to draw different foods! 📝We then put our chef 👩🍳🧑🍳hats on and made some delicious meals in the role play kitchen! 🍝🍔🥗🥧🍧
The preschoolers have had a fabulous day! We have been celebrating national chefs 👩🍳🧑🍳 day and looking at all things food! Yum😋 The children enjoy being their own chefs today making themselves some pumpkin 🎃 themed sandwiches! We had our ingredients and equipment of bread, butter, jam and a pumpkin cutter. The children took it in turns to use the spreads and spread it onto the bread using a knife. We then shared the pumpkin cutter to make pumpkin shaped sandwiches!
We had lots fun mixing music 🎶 and numbers🧮 in the current bun activity! We had lots of fun signing “5 current buns in a bakers shop” and counting backwards as we sold the buns to our friends. The children also matched the correct amounts of currents to their numbered buns.
In addition to this we learnt about the importance of hand 🤚 washing!🫧🧼 The children used soapy 🧴🧼 water with help wash the hands which were covered in green 🦠germs! The children showed us how they wash their hands and we sang some songs whilst doing so! “Happy birthday to you” we washed our hands for as long as we sand this whole song. 🎶🎵 We learnt how germs 🦠 can get on our hands after we used the toilet ! 🚽 We also understood to wash our hands before eating! 🍽️It’s good to keep clean!🫧🧼
We have loved being out in the garden 🪴 seeing the rain clouds 🌧️ and feeling it on our faces! The children have had the best time putting on their wellie boots 🥾 and jumping up ⬆️ and down ⬇️ in the puddles!! We used the trucks 🛻 to drive through the puddles and liked seeing the big splashes ! 💦
To start our day we explored a spooky Frankenstein tuff tray. We all put our aprons on and went straight for the
paintbrushes to create amazing marks! Whilst making the marks we were able to find some scary colourful eyes hiding
underneath. We then decided to turn ourselves into the green monster by painting our hands, this was great fun as we
all laughed. To finish we squished our hands together.🖌💚👀
To continue our excitement of the painting, we marched over to the table were the dinosaurs were waiting for us to
paint there feet. We dipped them into a colour of our choice to see which size feet would appear. We spoke about big,
small, big big and tiny. As we were stomping the colours mixed together which turned it into the dinosaur swamp! 🦖🎨📚
We have spent a wonderful amount of time in the garden. We have made oat cookies in the mud kitchen using large spoons
and different size pots and pans. We even shared them with everyone by giving them a chance to mix it all together
before it went in the oven. We then moved to the other side of the garden where we build extra large sand castles as
well as creating wonderful pictures on the wall. 🍪🏖📋
Construction has been a big part of today and we have built magnificent things. We work very hard to build a big car to
drive under the bridge. We got so involved we began to sing “driving in my car car”, as well as talking about safety
and putting on our seatbelts. 🧱🔨🚘
