Wow what an exciting week! 😲
We’ve had ‘National Winnie the Pooh day’ 🍯, ‘Penguin 🐧 awareness day’ and even ‘National Handwriting day’ today!
Today we have been busy doing activities based on hand writing as today is hand writing day. In messy we drew the animals that were on the tray. We using different resources to draw our animals. We also learnt how to hold a pencil/crayon correctly.
We enjoyed making train tracks on the table and driving our trains on the track. We made lots of train noises as well. They also enjoyed being zombies putting a basket on there faces and using the bowls to pretend they were turtles. Great imagination play everyone.
Also with hand writing we written out our names. We copied the sign that ha our names on and held the pencils correctly and focused well.
Wednesday was penguin awareness day and were doing lots of fun penguin activities. We enjoyed the penguin ice rink, we drew our own penguins and we enjoyed working urban what body part was what on our penguin. The children did well to point to his tail, flippers and his white body. We also made our penguins using card board roll, tissue paper and pencils. All in all a good day.
On Monday when it was national Winnie the Pooh day the babies had been singing a few songs with musical instruments and singing ‘down in the jungle’ and decided Winnie the Pooh was going to have his clothes washed! This afternoon we have been creating Winnie the Pooh masks and colouring in his honey pot. 🍯 The preschool and toddlers have been playing the bee hive game; developing relationships and turn taking! This afternoon they made their own snack, by making honey sandwich this helps to develop their independence and give a small responsibility! They were very yummy! 😋
